Peter-Brian Andersson is a Rhodes Scholar with doctorates in medicine (MBChB cum laude, University of Cape Town) and philosophy (DPhil, University of Oxford) and an honors degree in medical biochemistry (BScMed(Hons) University of Cape Town). He was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship at Oxford, a distinction afforded to its top 2% graduate researchers, and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society in the United States. He has published widely in neuroimmunology and neurology, including in Neuroscience, Trends in the Neurosciences, Journal of Experimental Medicine, The Lancet and Neurology. He has held College Lecturer or Clinical Instructor positions at the Universities of Oxford, University of California San Francisco and Stanford, and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of California Los Angeles and a neurologist in clinical private practice.
